BIO

Tony Amos began his career in New York City assisting some of the best photographers in the world while also making his own portraits of some of the most interesting people in the world. For over a decade now he has been based in Sydney shooting lifestyle, interiors, portraits, still life and more recently a lot of travel assignments. The common thread in all his work is a subtle, naturalistic dedication to ambiance, colour and character. He is a master of of colour analogue printing and hand retouching which he still applies to his art work.

He has worked and has been published globally through commissions and syndication. His approach to work is resourceful and inventive regardless of whether a budget is large or small. He prides himself on delivering on time and on budget. Being a seasoned traveller he has no problem getting on a plane and being ready to work anywhere in the world.

His art work has exhibited in Australia and the US, and is collected in Australia, the US and Europe. In 2009 he gave a tightly vetted masterclass at The Australian Centre for Photography for photographers preparing to exhibit their work. His portraits of Heath Ledger are currently on view at The National Film & Sound Archive, Canberra as part of the Exhibition Heath Ledger - A Life in Pictures.
